I am back with another Iftar special recipe. Today's recipe is a simple recipe of bajji which is delicious and easy to make. This recipe makes 8 egg bajjis.
Ingredients
4 hard boiled eggs
1 cup Besan (gram flour)
1 tsp Red chilli powder
1 tsp Cumin powder
Salt to taste
Pinch of asafoetida
Pinch of soda
Pinch of turmeric powder
Oil for frying
Method
- Take besan, red chilli powder, salt, cumin powder, soda and asafoetida in a bowl.
- Add water little by little to form a smooth and thick batter.
- Take the eggs and cut each longitudinally into 2 halves.
- Take one half, and apply ¼ tsp of red chilli powder and a pinch of salt over the cut portion. In the same way, add red chilli powder and salt to all the egg halves.
- Heat oil in a pan and when oil is hot, dip the egg halves in the batter such that it coats completely and carefully add it to the oil.
- Deep fry the egg bajji till it is golden brown in colour.
- In the same way prepare the remaining bajjis.
- You can fry 3 or 4 bajjis at a time depending on the size of your pan.
- Transfer the bajjis to a tissue paper and serve hot with tomato sauce for iftar or as a snack with tea or coffee.
